MUSIC

Softee’s sophomore album explores a heartbreak and new romance they went through in quick succession, and the emotional whiplash that occurred throughout. The album was recorded in Berlin in collaboration with Jeremy Chinn (sweetbbyj) and released via City Slang Records in 2023. A single off the album called Red Light Green Light is described by Paper as “a fresh take on a familiar pop culture phenomenon, a disco anthem with delectable soundbites and dreamy vocals.”

Softee’s debut album was released in 2020. It was produced, written and engineered by Softee in their one bedroom apartment in Bushwick, Brooklyn. The title track is described by Atwood magazine as “a synth-heavy and extremely danceable track.” Their song Crush off this album was featured in the show Queer as folk on Peacock.

Softee’s first ever release features 80s inspired dance tracks and pop ballads. The single “Oh No” off this EP has been featured in The Wilds on Amazon Prime. This was Softee’s first foray into DIY music scene in Brooklyn and their first time writing under the pseudonym Softee. They found it extremely liberating, and view this EP as an experiment in trying on a different persona that’s larger than life.
